Jobtailor is seeking an experienced optical engineer or researcher to design and develop a high-performance photonic system for life sciences imaging. You will lead multimodal biophotonics imaging platform efforts from concept through prototyping, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong hands-on skills with optical bench prototyping, deep understanding of light-matter interactions, and the ability to manage complex projects in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of proven experience as an optical engineer or researcher, ideally in life sciences imaging.
• Solid understanding of light–matter interactions, microscopy, and optical system design.
• Strong hands-on experience with optical bench prototyping and managing multidisciplinary projects.
• English proficiency (B2 or above) required.
• Familiarity with microbiology is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive bibliographic research to design and develop a high-performance photonic system at the forefront of innovation.
• Lead the conception, development, and prototyping of a multimodal biophotonics imaging platform for a high-impact project.
• Design experiments to optimize signal quality and imaging system performance.
• Process imaging data and collaborate with computer vision engineers to analyze and interpret results.
