Job summary

Norma is building a breakthrough carbon capture technology and is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to take the hardware from lab-scale proof of concept to an industrial prototype and pilot plant in Paris.

You will own the mechanical design, lead hands-on development, coordinate suppliers and ensure manufacturing readiness across prototype to demo, while mentoring junior engineers in a fast-growing ClimateTech team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree welcome.
• Minimum 2 years of full-time product development experience.
• Mechanical design experience on industrial equipment with fluid and thermal management; electrochemical stacks preferred.
• Experience taking a product from prototype to pilot stage (TRL4 to TRL7).

Responsibilities

• Technical Owner: define design and process requirements across prototype to demo.
• Builder & Tester: hands-on development, fabrication and testing.
• Hardware Lead (pilot): own mechanical design and build of the pilot unit.
• Engineering Standard-Bearer: ensure traceability and rigorous design docs.
• Team multiplier: coordinate suppliers and guide junior engineers.
