Job summary

Wizdaa is seeking a highly senior backend engineer to own the backend landscape in an AI-first environment. The role requires Lead Engineer / Architect level expertise and the ability to make architecture decisions independently.

You will design and own backend services in NestJS and TypeScript, build GraphQL APIs, and own Postgres data models across a microservices stack. Fully remote in the United States, with USD compensation in EST or PST aligned hours.

Qualifications

• Extensive lead-level backend experience with architecture ownership.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous product needs into scalable backend solutions.
• Strong expertise in Node.js/TypeScript and modern API design.

Responsibilities

• Design and own backend services in NestJS and TypeScript from schema to production.
• Make architecture decisions independently with a focus on scalability and reliability.
• Build and maintain GraphQL APIs across a microservices environment.
• Own database design, optimization, and reliability in PostgreSQL.
• Define technical direction beyond implementation details.
• Set and enforce quality standards for AI-generated and human-written code.
• Translate ambiguous product needs into clear technical solutions.
• Contribute to system design, infrastructure choices, testing strategy, and developer productivity.
• Operate in an AI-first workflow while upholding engineering standards.
