Nexans, a global leader in power transmission, seeks a Land High Voltage Cable System Engineer based in Paris La Défense to design and deliver onshore HV turnkey projects. You will collaborate with Tendering and Execution teams to elaborate technical offers, cable design data, and electrical calculations.

You will support project managers, review final documents for client approval, participate in meetings, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in High Voltage field is a plus.
• Familiarity with Mathcad software and / or with Finite Element Calculations method is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; rigorous and methodical.

Responsabilités

• Elaborate the Technical offer and the relevant deliverables (Cable design, Technical Study, Technical schedules, Qualification and factory Tests specifications, assumptions/deviations list and all relevant electrical calculations) at Tender stage.
• Support Project Managers to finalize the Technical offer for execution/implementation of the Project after Contract Award.
• Review, update and issue final Technical documents / deliverables for client approval before manufacturing the Cable System.
• Participate in internal and client Technical meetings; occasional travel to France / other countries for meetings.

WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

Within the ‘Power Transmission Business group’, the Land Cable System Engineering Department is responsible to design the Land part of the combined Subsea and Land High Voltage :

• Interconnections between two countries or
• Link to an Offshore Windfarm.

This Department is hiring a ‘Land High Voltage Cable System Engineer’ who will work in close cooperation with the Tendering and Execution Departments for the implementation of High Voltage Cable Turnkey Onshore Projects (and for the Onshore part of combined Subsea and Land Projects).

This position will be based in Paris La Défense and will report to the Head of Engineering GRID.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Core responsibilities and contributions of the role will be the following ones:

At Tender stage

following a request to submit an offer for an HV Project, sent by one of our client (e.g. electricity utility) located Worldwide:

• You will :
  • Elaborate the Technical offer and the relevant deliverables (Cable design, Technical Study, Technical schedules, Qualification and factory Tests specifications, assumptions/deviations list and all the relevant electrical calculations requested by our client).

At Execution stage (after Contract Award)

Once Nexans has been awarded a Project by one of his client:

• You will :
  • Support our Project Managers to finalize Nexans Technical offer for the execution / implementation of the Project.
  • Review, update and issue final Technical documents / deliverables (final Cable design, data sheets / detailed Electrical calculations notices) for client approval before manufacturing the Cable System).

This position includes :

• Participation to internal and clients Technical meetings.
• Few travels to France / other countries for short durations to attend customer meetings.

YOUR STARTING POINT
