Job summary

CHANEL in Paris is seeking a passionate Assistant Junior Designer intern for six months in the Knitwear Studio. You will work on the full knitwear development process, from research to fabric and garment development, gaining hands-on experience with knitting machines and sampling.

The ideal candidate is a BA/MA in Fashion Design with strong knitwear sensitivity, proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, and fluent in English (French is a plus).

Qualifications

• BA/MA in Fashion Design.
• Strong knitwear sensitivity.
• Proficiency with machine knitting.
• Fluent English; French preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fashion, trend, and textile image research.
• Assist in knitted fabric design and development.
• Work with machine knitting and domestic knitting machines.
• Support hand knitting, sampling, and crochet where relevant.
• Assist in garment development, including flat sketches.
• Support sampling, prototyping, and development processes.
• Organise yarns, swatches, samples, and design files.
• Support the team during collection development and fittings.
