Big Science Sweden is seeking an individual to join the HSE-RP-AS section at CERN, focusing on radiation protection for accelerators and experimental areas. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on expertise in operational radiation protection through field operations and planning.

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree and have a maximum of two years of experience in Radiation Protection or a related field. Applicants without a University degree are not eligible.

You would join the HSE-RP-AS (Accelerators & Sites) section who is in charge of all radiation protection aspects related to the design and operation of accelerators and experimental areas at CERN. This role would primarily be based at the Prévessin Site and includes the four Large Experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC ), namely ATLAS, CMS, LHCb and ALICE.

This position offers a unique chance to develop hands‑on expertise in operational radiation protection. Through close involvement in field operations and planning, you will become proficient with radiation monitoring instruments, radiological risk assessments, and the practical application of the ALARA ("As Low As Reasonably Achievable") principle.

• By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Radiation Protection (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
