Job description

You will join the Data Office, which helps teams use trusted, well-governed and secure data. We develop practical standards for data ownership, quality and documentation across the Group.

Within Data & Digital Solutions, the Data Office works with business, IT and operations teams to embed governance in the Group’s data projects and Snowflake Data Platform.

As a Junior Data Project Manager, you will support the continued development of DataGalaxy, our operational Group Data Catalog. You will help improve documentation and adoption, and support the integration of catalog metadata with the Data Platform. You will coordinate with business and technical colleagues under the guidance of the Data Project Manager.

Reporting to the Data Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Develop Data Catalog coverage and adoption (DataGalaxy)
  • Help business teams refine glossary definitions and map them to datasets. Organize workshops, check terminology and follow up with the people accountable for each definition.
  • Improve metadata completeness and validation across priority systems. Follow up with Data Owners and Data Stewards on assigned responsibilities and the regular review of catalog content.
  • Work with IT Data on requirements and testing for metadata connections between DataGalaxy, Snowflake and reporting tools. Help document lineage and clarify how Microsoft Purview classification and ownership metadata should be handled between systems.
  • Maintain and improve existing Data Governance dashboards. Track documentation completeness, validation and usage, and report gaps that need action from business or technical teams.
Support Data Platform and governance initiatives
  • Prepare concise progress updates for the Data Office and business stakeholders. Track open issues, owners and next steps for catalog adoption and governance work.
  • Support the evaluation of AI-assisted metadata documentation, including use-case testing, quality checks and coordination with the platform and AI-governance teams.
  • Support the integration of DataGalaxy with the Snowflake Data Platform. Document synchronization issues and help colleagues resolve them. Contribute to practical ownership, stewardship and data-quality processes for priority use cases.
Strategic Coordination & Alignment
  • Support coordination with the Data Protection Office, Information Risk Management and IT Operations on ownership, classification and data access requirements.
  • Help translate governance requirements into practical guidance for Data Platform and self-service BI projects.
Data Democratization
  • Share Data Office guidance and good practices with business and technical teams.
  • Contribute to Data Governance communications and the community of Data Owners and Data Stewards.
