DESCRIPTION
OmniAccess is seeking an IT Technician based in Spain who is willing to join our energetic team in France for the upcoming 2 to 3 years. The selected candidate will work exclusively within the IT Team of one of OmniAccess's most important clients.
The IT onboard operations Team ensures seamless operation of a fleet of River Ships cruising in Europe. The team manages the entire IT infrastructure, including Satellite Internet, TVRO, Network and WiFi Infrastructure, iTV System, Windows Servers, and Clients.
In this role, you will oversee IT operations onboard, utilizing technologies such as Windows Server 2022 / 2019, Hyper-V, iDRAC, Active Directory (AD), DHCP, DNS, Trunk & VLAN, Citrix & Xendesktop, SCVMM, and Proxmox.
Your main responsibility will be to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of our river cruise ship guests and internal clients. This includes regular monitoring, maintenance, and implementation of new IT solutions across our fleet. Effective communication with end-users is crucial, as you will provide direct support and promptly address all technology-related needs.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily operations as outlined in Run Books and other technical documents provided during training.
- Monitor systems daily, verify hardware and server resources, review logs, and ensure completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Ensure backup procedures are carried out successfully and in accordance with IT policies.
- Maintain operational, configuration, or other policies and procedures as instructed.
- Generate performance reports to support capacity planning.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
- Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
- Manage hardware inventory, ensuring all IT equipment is in good working condition, including PCs, printers, POS systems, servers, and related hardware.
- Provide basic user training and support for common PC software and specialized property management software as needed.
- Monitor and support satellite communication systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Coordinate with teams and IT vendors for newbuild ships in construction yards and oversee deployment progress.
- Assist team members as needed.
- Travel and conduct onboard visits.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Requirements:
- Willingness to relocate to France (Paris or nearby) for 2 to 3 years.
- Work authorization for France is required.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in English; French skills are a plus.
- At least 2 years of practical experience in a similar role (e.g., System Administrator).
- Experience with Windows Server 2019-2022 installation and administration.
- Knowledge of Active Directory features (DHCP, DNS) and Failover clusters.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair PC and printer hardware.
- Understanding of LAN and WLAN networking.
- Experience installing hardware and software.
- Experience with VMWare vSphere, Hyper-V, XenDesktop, and Proxmox.
- Proficiency in PowerShell.
- Knowledge of Dell PowerEdge servers.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and attitude skills.
- Ability to follow onboard management directives and adhere to safety and behavioral rules.
- Comfort in dealing with senior stakeholders and working autonomously.
