Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled system architect to define the end-to-end system architecture of our next-generation European LEO satellite communications system (IRIS²). You will work closely with engineers, architects, product, and business managers, as well as external suppliers, to develop system components, write technical requirements, perform trade studies, and maintain the technical baseline, including interface definitions. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within an organization that values growth, teamwork, and professional development.

Who You Are:
  • You’re a system engineer with experience in deploying and refining large multi-user, bi-directional wireless communication systems, not necessarily satellite-based.
  • You have worked with or for communication system component suppliers, leading design reviews.
  • You have a deep understanding of system development, integration, verification, and validation processes.
  • You possess 5-10 years of industry experience.
What You’ll Do:
  • Define the end-to-end system architecture and document it, including design definition and justification files.
  • Perform trade-offs related to physical layer design, such as air interface trade-offs and inter-segment trade-offs.
  • Establish and track architectural decisions and changes using appropriate tools.
  • Collaborate on developing the functional architecture model and coordinate activities within the architecture team.
  • Work with interface managers and payload, UT, and GW teams on physical layer trade-offs and decisions.
  • Define CONOPS to clarify system functional flows.
  • Contribute to system requirements writing for your areas of responsibility.
What You’ll Need:
  • Strong background in integrating all system segments including Payload, Mission Segment, Core Network, RAN, User Terminal, BSS, and OSS.
  • Experience in adapting communication systems for satellite deployments.
  • Understanding of security and integrity protection for user data and control systems.
  • Knowledge of NTN features is a plus.
  • Experience with systems engineering software tools for requirements management and modeling.
Where You’ll Work:
  • Preferably based in Paris, France, or Torino, Italy, within the European Union.
  • Flexible in-office and remote work options.
  • International travel required.
