Job summary

CMA CGM is offering an end-of-studies internship in its CMA Ships Technical Department in Marseille. You will analyze LNG boil-off gas data, study tank behavior, and develop a statistical model to optimize gas management during voyages.

The role requires Bac +5 level engineering studies with strong thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and programming skills in Fortran and Python. Duration: at least 6 months, with a start date in Q1 2027.

Qualifications

• Bac +5 level, engineering school or Master’s in thermal sciences, energetics, fluid mechanics or modeling and numerical simulation.
• Solid knowledge of thermodynamics, thermal sciences, fluid mechanics and energetics.
• Proficiency in Fortran and Python; C is a plus; experience with numerical methods.

Responsibilities

• Literature review on LNG behavior in storage tanks.
• Data collection from operational databases for the study.
• Fleet data analysis on pressure evolution and BOG generation.
• Propose optimization strategies to reduce BOG losses and quantify LNG savings.
• Write a final report detailing results and insights.
