Atrium Health Pineville & University Hospitals is seeking an experienced Acute Care APP or PA to provide inpatient gastroenterology care, including consults and ongoing management, on a weekend schedule.

You will work Friday to Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., covering Pineville Hospital and UW Hospital, with 18–20 patients per day and PEG tube exchanges when needed. Collaborate with GI physicians, APPs, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant credentialing.
• Active North Carolina licensure eligibility or status.
• Interest in inpatient gastroenterology and team-based care.

Responsabilités

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology care, including consults and ongoing patient management.
• Average patient volume of 18–20 patients per day.
• Perform PEG tube exchanges/placements in endoscopy as applicable.
• Collaborate with GI physicians, APPs, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in an acute care setting.

Schedule Details/Additional Information: APP would be responsible for covering Pineville Hospital and UW Hospital from 6am-7pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Pay Range: $47.50 - $71.25

Position Details

• Employment Type: Full‑time (1.0 FTE)
• Schedule: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Setting: Inpatient
• Location: Atrium Health Pineville & University Hospitals
• Call Coverage: Weekend daytime call (6 a.m.–7 p.m.), shared with one GI APP
• Holidays: Some holidays required (rotational)

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology care, including consults and ongoing patient management
• Average patient volume: 18–20 patients per day
• Perform PEG tube exchanges/placements in endoscopy as applicable
• Collaborate closely with GI physicians, APP colleagues, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams
• Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in an acute care environment

Team & Practice Environment

• Weekend staffing model includes 1 GI physician and 2 APPs

Qualifications

• Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required (no new graduates)
• Active or eligible North Carolina licensure
• Strong interest in comprehensive inpatient gastroenterology care
• Subspecialty GI interests welcomed
