Job summary

Eutelsat is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, define, coordinate and maintain interfaces of future satellite communication systems built on IRIS². The role covers end-to-end interfaces across user, space, ground, network, service and operations domains.

You will translate functional architecture into verifiable requirements, drive convergence on interface patterns, and lead interface working groups with suppliers and SMEs. Fluent English and a Master’s degree are required.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in end-to-end functional or system architecture for satellite or distributed systems.
• Master's degree in engineering, computer science or similar technical field.
• Experience with large multi-supplier systems and interface contributions.
• Working knowledge of at least one standards family (3GPP, O-RAN, CCSDS, TMF, …).
• Experience chairing or leading technical discussions with external suppliers and partners.
• Fluent English, written to specification standard.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the interface register and interface matrix for the end-to-end system.
• Identify applicable standards and reference architectures for each interface.
• Maintain interface assumptions, constraints, rationale, dependencies, decisions and open points.
• Translate functional chains and system requirements into verifiable requirements.
• Define information exchanges across control, user, and management-plane interfaces with expected responses.
• Establish a unified system data model and protocols addressing connectivity constraints.
• Chair interface working groups and drive technical agreement with owners.
• Support definition of interface verification methods and acceptance criteria.
