Job summary

Viridien in Massy is seeking a Master 2 student for an internship to analyze the latest developments in C++ and Fortran compilers used in our HPC workflows. You will run tests, document changes, and assess performance impacts to support a hardware and software transition.

You will work with a team of circa fifteen professionals across the globe, review compilation environments, compare optimization results, and present findings to the group during the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master 2 in computer science and applying theory to HPC research.
• Strong analytical mindset and initiative.
• Comfortable working in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Review the current compilation environment.
• Get hands-on with the next version of the compiler range and conduct a literature review of its major changes.
• Select a set of test cases, either synthetic or drawn from production code.
• Analyze the compilation outputs, compare results and assess performance gains.
• Compare optimizations based on the options enabled.
• Present progress to our team during the internship.
