Job summary

Viridien is seeking a Master 2 student for a compiler analysis internship in Massy, France. You will assess the latest compiler developments for HPC scientific applications, run tests, and document performance improvements to support a technology transition.

You will join a team of around fifteen professionals, contributing to in-house scientific computing software and related tools. English communication and proactive collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master 2 degree in computer science (engineering school or university).
• Solid foundation in Linux scripting (Bash, C Shell or equivalent) and proficient in at least one language (C, Fortran or Python).
• Comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Review current compilation environment.
• Get hands-on with the next version of the compiler range and review major changes.
• Select test cases (synthetic or from production code) for analysis.
• Analyze compilation outputs, compare results and assess performance gains.
• Compare optimizations by compiler options enabled.
• Present progress to the team during the internship.
