ESRF in Grenoble, a flagship European research facility, seeks a scientist to reinforce algorithmic, reconstruction and HPC work for BM18 tomography. You will collaborate with beamline scientists and ESRF computing experts to advance methods and ensure robust, scalable deployment across beamlines.

The role emphasizes method development, large-scale data processing, and maintaining tools for routine and advanced experiments, with a strong link to experimental needs and user projects.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Imaging Science or related field.
• Strong experience in algorithm development and scientific computing.
• Experience with image processing and inverse problems is valued.

Responsabilités

• Develop and improve reconstruction and image-processing methods for BM18 tomographic experiments.
• Design and optimise scalable workflows for very large datasets and HPC infrastructure.
• Contribute to stabilisation, documentation and maintainability of reconstruction tools.
• Collaborate with beamline scientists and align development with experimental needs.
• Transfer methods developed at BM18 to other ESRF tomography beamlines.
