ESRF in Grenoble seeks a PhD-qualified scientist to advance reconstruction and image-processing methods for BM18 tomographic experiments. You will design scalable processing workflows for massive datasets and HPC infrastructure, and help stabilise and document reconstruction tools for routine and high-end use.

Working closely with beamline scientists, you will ensure algorithmic developments meet experimental needs and contribute to transferring methods to other ESRF tomography beamlines.

Qualifications

• PhD degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Strong experience in algorithm development, scientific computing or image processing.
• Experience with inverse problems or related areas is highly valued.
• Ability to work at the interface of experiments, data and computation.
• Proficient in English, working language at ESRF.

Responsabilités

• Developing and improving reconstruction and image-processing methods for advanced tomographic experiments at BM18.
• Designing and optimising scalable processing workflows for very large datasets and HPC infrastructure.
• Contributing to stabilisation, documentation and maintainability of reconstruction tools.
• Working closely with beamline scientists and participating in experiments to align developments with needs.
• Contributing to transfer of BM18 methods to other ESRF tomography beamlines.
