Ooak Data seeks a Head of Engineering to build and lead the core engineering team delivering our data platform to frontier labs, reporting to the CTO. You will own ingestion, anonymization, and data pipelines, while shaping architecture and engineering practices across the company.

Located in Paris with on-site work and occasional remote days. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in software, 3+ years leading engineers, and strong Python/SQL skills, plus experience with data workflows, security, and

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with 3+ years as manager.
• Built teams from few to 15–30 engineers; hiring and onboarding know-how.
• Deep backend expertise: Python, SQL, distributed pipelines, cloud infra.
• Experience shipping in fast-moving startups/scale-ups.
• Strong focus on security, access control, and auditable systems.
• Fluent English; comfortable with clients and labs.
• Experience with data eng at scale: ETL/ELT, orchestration like Airflow.
• Interest in AI/RL and frontier models.
• TypeScript on the side for platform.

• Lead and grow the engineering squad; hire, onboard, set priority and velocity.
