Orus, a European insurtech, is hiring a hands-on Data Engineer to join its growing team in Paris. You will shape and own data platforms, build reliable pipelines, and collaborate with Analytics, Insurance and Engineering to enable data-driven decisions.

You will work on dbt-based transformations, SQL modelling, and event-driven pipelines in a cloud-native stack (BigQuery, Looker Studio, Terraform, Kubernetes).

Qualifications

• Strong SQL proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with dbt.
• Knowledge of modern cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift or ClickHouse).
• Ability to reason about data models and architecture tradeoffs.
• Willingness and ability to learn TypeScript.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and understanding of business goals.
• Autonomy, initiative, clear communication, and willingness to seek feedback.
• Experience in startup or scaleup data teams, ideally in SaaS/fintech/insurtech environments.
• Residence in Île-de-France with regular Paris office presence; no full remote.

Responsabilités

• Shaping and prioritizing data requests with stakeholders.
• Assessing data impacts with Engineering when the product or back office changes.
• Monitoring data quality and resolving production issues.
• Developing and improving SQL models.
• Maintaining and evolving the data warehouse and pipelines.
• Pairing with teammates and contributing to technical and architectural decisions.
• Collaborating with Analytics, Growth, Insurance and Engineering to meet data needs.
