About the Role:
Grade Level (for internal use):

14

The Team:

The newly created Commercial Enablement team brings together enablement capabilities from across the commercial organization under one unified structure, including Pricing & Packaging, Commercial Operations and Business Process Management, Commercial Business Management, Commercial Discovery Solutions, and Primary Accounts. The team serves as the operational engine for the commercial organization, simplifying how work gets done, equipping client-facing colleagues with the insights, tools, processes, and capabilities they need, and enabling them to spend more time with customers. With a global, collaborative, and customer-first approach, the team partners across functions to improve commercial effectiveness, strengthen execution, and accelerate sustainable revenue growth.

Responsibilities and Impact:
  • Set the vision, strategy, operating model, and multi-year roadmap for the newly consolidated Commercial Enablement team, aligning priorities and investment with the commercial organization’s growth objectives.

  • Lead and integrate Pricing & Packaging, Commercial Operations and Business Process Management, Commercial Business Management, Commercial Discovery Solutions, and Primary Accounts, creating clear governance, consistent operating standards, and effective ways of working across the portfolio.

  • Partner with Commercial, Product, Finance, Customer Experience, Technology, Data, Legal, and People leaders to translate business strategy into coordinated plans, scalable capabilities, and measurable outcomes.

  • Own pricing and packaging enablement, including governance, pricing architecture, discounting and approval frameworks, deal economics, and tools that support disciplined decision-making, value realization, and sustainable growth.

  • Establish the commercial planning and performance management cadence, including territory and capacity planning, quota-setting methodologies, pipeline and forecast governance, KPI management, executive reporting, and conversion of insights into action.

  • Design and continuously improve end-to-end commercial processes, CRM governance, business process management, and controls to simplify ways of working, improve data quality, reduce administrative burden, and accelerate deal flow.

  • Partner with Customer Experience and Technology to optimize the commercial technology ecosystem, including CRM, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools, and ensure adoption through clear governance, training, and user-centered change management.

  • Build and lead a high-performing, globally distributed team, including leaders of specialist functions; establish clear accountabilities, develop talent, foster collaboration, and create an inclusive, high-performance culture.

  • Lead the organizational transition to the new Commercial Enablement model, establishing the team’s identity, communicating its value proposition, managing interdependencies, and embedding sustainable adoption across the commercial organization.

  • Measure success through outcomes such as seller productivity, forecast accuracy, pricing realization, sales-cycle efficiency, process and technology adoption, customer engagement, and revenue growth.

What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 10+ years of relevant experience in commercial enablement, revenue operations, sales operations, pricing, commercial strategy, or related enterprise B2B functions.

  • We are open to professionals with an academic or professional background in business, finance, economics, marketing, or a related field, combined with relevant experience or demonstrated interest in commercial enablement, revenue operations, sales operations, pricing, commercial strategy, or related enterprise B2B environments.

  • Demonstrated success leading and integrating multiple commercial enablement capabilities within a complex, global, matrixed organization.

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in pricing and packaging, commercial planning, performance management, pipeline and forecast governance, account segmentation, or related disciplines.

  • Proven ability to define an enterprise strategy and operating model, translate it into a prioritized roadmap, and deliver measurable improvements in commercial effectiveness and revenue outcomes.

  • Experience designing and improving end-to-end commercial processes, governance, data standards, and controls at scale.

  • Strong knowledge of CRM, analytics, automation, and reporting platforms, with the ability to shape technology strategy in partnership with technical teams.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capability, with a record of translating complex data and customer or market insights into clear decisions and actions.

  • Proven change leadership experience, including organizational integration, stakeholder alignment, process adoption, and sustained transformation across regions and functions.

  • Executive presence and excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and drive outcomes across senior stakeholders without relying solely on direct authority.

  • Demonstrated success building, developing, and leading high-performing global teams, including leaders and specialist functions.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial services, information services, energy, data and analytics, or technology sectors with complex enterprise sales cycles and global client relationships.

  • Experience establishing or transforming a consolidated Commercial Enablement or Revenue Operations function.

  • Knowledge of value-based pricing, packaging design, deal governance, and commercial monetization models.

  • Experience with commercial discovery, customer insight, account planning, sales methodology, onboarding, or broader commercial capability-building programs.

  • Advanced proficiency with platforms such as Salesforce and commercial automation or intelligence tools, together with business intelligence solutions such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Experience applying AI, advanced analytics, and automation to improve commercial productivity, decision-making, and customer engagement.
