MDE UK is seeking a Head of Asset Management to oversee a growing portfolio of utility-scale solar PV assets across France. This senior role combines technical, operational and commercial leadership, working with O&M providers, contractors and internal stakeholders to maximise asset performance and revenue.

Based in Paris with hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days remote), the position offers €100,000–€120,000 annual salary and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in photovoltaic/renewable energy sector.
• Experience managing or overseeing utility-scale solar PV assets.
• Knowledge of PV technology and LV/MV electrical systems; HV would be advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Lead the technical and operational management of a portfolio of utility-scale solar PV assets.
• Oversee Asset Management and O&M contracts, ensuring performance against KPIs and contractual requirements.
• Monitor asset performance, including production, availability and performance ratio.
• Review and validate preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Oversee major technical interventions, repairs and improvement programmes.
• Analyse performance deviations and implement corrective action plans.
• Conduct regular technical inspections across the portfolio.
• Manage OPEX budgets and monitor financial performance.
• Support revenue optimisation across PPAs, electricity markets and other remuneration mechanisms.
• Identify opportunities for asset optimisation, including repowering and energy storage.
• Ensure compliance with French regulatory and grid requirements.

About the Role

We are working with a leading renewable energy business that is looking to appoint a Head of Asset Management to oversee a growing portfolio of utility-scale solar PV assets across France.

This is a senior position with responsibility for the technical, operational, commercial and regulatory performance of the portfolio, working closely with O&M providers, contractors, internal stakeholders and wider project teams.

The role will play an important part in maximising asset performance and revenue throughout the full lifecycle of the portfolio, while identifying opportunities for optimisation and future growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and operational management of a portfolio of utility-scale solar PV assets.
• Oversee Asset Management and O&M contracts, ensuring performance against agreed KPIs and contractual requirements.
• Monitor asset performance, including production, availability and performance ratio.
• Review and validate preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Oversee major technical interventions, repairs and improvement programmes.
• Analyse performance deviations and implement appropriate corrective action plans.
• Conduct regular technical inspections across the portfolio.
• Manage OPEX budgets and monitor financial performance.
• Support revenue optimisation across PPAs, electricity markets and other remuneration mechanisms.
• Manage insurance matters, claims, warranties and contractual penalties.
• Prepare regular technical, operational and financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities for asset optimisation, including repowering, retrofit and technological improvements.
• Support the integration of BESS and other technologies as the portfolio develops.
• Ensure compliance with relevant French regulatory and grid requirements.
• Oversee technical audits and associated actions.
• Ensure appropriate HSE and QHSE standards are maintained across the portfolio.

About You

We are looking for an experienced renewable energy professional with a strong background in solar PV asset management, O&M or technical operations.

You are likely to have:

• A Master's degree (Bac+5) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience within the photovoltaic/renewable energy sector.
• Experience managing or overseeing utility-scale solar PV assets.
• Strong knowledge of PV technology and LV/MV electrical systems; HV experience would be advantageous.
• Experience managing O&M contractors and technical service providers.
• A strong understanding of asset performance, availability and production monitoring.
• Experience with commercial and contractual aspects of renewable energy assets.
• Knowledge of BESS / energy storage would be advantageous.
• An understanding of French energy regulations and grid requirements would be beneficial.
• Native/C2-level French and at least B2-level English.
• The flexibility to travel nationally as required.
