Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking a grid analyst to map, analyse and model grids across markets, informing capex strategy and non-wire solutions for the energy transition.

The role requires strong energy systems knowledge, advanced power flow modeling, and experience with DERs. You will contribute to grid investment plans and interconnection analysis while collaborating across teams to deliver impactful insights.

Qualifications

• Strong background in energy systems or electrical engineering/ power system modeling.
• Advanced power flow modeling expertise and knowledge of non-linear optimization.
• Experience with DERs and utility-scale energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Map, analyse and model grids across markets to inform capex strategy and non-wire solutions.
• Perform techno-economic and power flow modeling to define optimal resource mix.
• Assess grid quality and stability solutions, focusing on non-wire options.
• Develop grid investment plans or Integrated Resource Plans for technical sign-off.
• Analyze grid constraints and interconnection queues.
• Possess interest in expanding into commercial modeling.
