Job summary

Mistral in France is seeking Data Center Hardware Engineers to keep GPU/CPU clusters healthy, safe and growing — hands-on, in the data center, at the intersection of HPC and physical infrastructure.

You'll join a small, senior team on-site at our data centres, working with GPUs, high-speed interconnects, and liquid-cooled platforms. The role requires practical rack skills and a willingness to rotate on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Hands-on comfort in data centres or server hardware and racks.
• Disciplined and meticulous; checklists are craftsmanship.
• Basic electrical knowledge and power-off procedures.
• Basic Linux checks; scripting is a plus, not a requirement.
• Physically able to lift, mount and maneuver in a data centre.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose & repair server and cluster hardware: CPUs, memory, drives, NICs, GPUs, PSUs and interconnects.
• Intervene safely with power-off procedures, PPE, and clean work areas.
• Capture photos, serials, test results; open, update and close tickets with actionable notes.
• Manage parts: receive, label, track inventory; run RMAs and coordinate with vendors.
• Feed anomalies into monitoring, alerts and SOPs; contribute small scripts if possible.
• Provide clear status updates and honest handovers with teammates.
