EGIDE invites engineering students to join a 6-month on-site internship in Paris region. You will develop vehicle control techniques for take-off and transition to boost, exploring literature, selecting actuators, and designing control laws with Python or MATLAB/Simulink.
You will work closely with a small, ambitious team on real hardware, with exposure to design, analysis, and flight testing, in a fast-moving environment.
📍 Location: Paris Region (on-site)
🛰️ Sector: Next-generation European Defense / Counter-UAS
💼 Type: Internship (6 months)
⏳ Start date: February 2027 (flexible)
💰 Compensation: 1500€/month
EGIDE is building Europe’s next defense champion. We design autonomous interceptor systems to counter emerging aerial threats, including kamikaze and loitering drones. Our focus is on high-performance interceptor hardware, combining missile-grade engineering discipline with rapid iteration and system-level optimization. We develop effectors where mechanical architecture, mass distribution, structural integrity, and environmental robustness are mission-critical.
This is a great place to do an internship: you’ll join a small, ambitious team in a fast-moving environment, with direct exposure to the full hardware cycle, from design and analysis to build and flight testing.
As part of pre-projects for future products or evolutions of existing systems, this internship focuses on developing vehicle control techniques during the take-off phase and transition to the boost phase.
Your mission will include:
Literature review: Explore existing solutions for controlling vehicles in similar conditions.
Actuator selection: Identify and evaluate suitable actuators to ensure controllability during take-off.
Controllability analysis and control law design: Analyze the vehicle’s ability to respond to control inputs, design and test algorithms to stabilize and guide the vehicle.
Simulation and validation: Implement control laws in Python or MATLAB/Simulink and validate them through simulations.
Testing: Possibility to validate your designs through real-world testing on prototypes or full-scale systems.
You will be able to work closely with our engineering team to bring your solutions from theory to practice. Your work and results will have a direct impact on the development of our future products.
You are currently in the final year of an engineering degree, with a specialization in Applied Mathematics, Control Theory, Signal Processing, or Aeronautics.
You have basic knowledge of control theory, modeling, simulation of autonomous systems, aerodynamics, and flight mechanics.
You are proficient in Python or MATLAB/Simulink.
You are proactive, open-minded, and enjoy bridging hardware and software systems.
