Job summary

HyLight is seeking an internship focused on Guidance, Navigation and Control of the HyLighter airship. You will model dynamics, implement control laws, and work with the GNC, Embedded, and Regulatory teams to enable pilotless flights under diverse conditions.

You will gain hands-on experience with flight dynamics, embedded systems, and regulatory interactions while collaborating with a global, founder-minded team and contributing to ongoing R&D efforts.

Qualifications

• Experience in Guidance, Navigation & Control, Flight Dynamics, Robotics, Aerospace, Autonomous Systems through internships, projects or research.
• Knowledge of modeling and control with exposure to Simulink; dynamics and automation fundamentals.
• Programming in Python and C/C++; MATLAB/Simulink coursework or projects is a plus.
• Embedded software concepts; hardware drivers and microcontrollers familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Model airship dynamics to design and implement control and guidance laws for mission execution.
• Contribute to flight strategies for difficult conditions and risk mitigation.
• Debug embedded systems; implement flight computers, actuators and sensors.
• Define and participate in flight tests and simulations with documentation of models and control laws.
• Improve airship performance and contribute to future flight solutions.
