Kuehne+Nagel is seeking an experienced AI leader to drive Road Logistics AI transformation from concept to production. You will identify opportunities, design scalable AI solutions, and work with operations and IT to deliver measurable value globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years delivering AI, ML, automation, or digital transformation solutions from concept to production.
• Strong expertise in Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, ML, optimization, and intelligent automation.
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools and platforms (Python, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Power Platform, LangChain, etc.).
• Proven track record designing, building, and scaling AI solutions with measurable business impact in logistics or operations-heavy environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, enterprise system knowledge (ERP, TMS), AI governance, and agile ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Drive Road Logistics AI transformation by identifying and prioritizing opportunities delivering measurable business value and scalable improvements.
• Evaluate business challenges and choose AI approaches (Generative AI, ML, automation, analytics).
• Design, build, and validate AI-powered proofs of concept, pilots, and MVPs to accelerate adoption.
• Define scalable architectures and ensure integration with existing processes and standards.
• Collaborate with operational teams and technology stakeholders to translate needs into practical AI solutions.
• Establish governance, quality, and performance frameworks while shaping a scalable AI operating model.

How you create impact

• Drive Road Logistics' AI transformation by identifying, assessing, and prioritizing opportunities that deliver measurable business value, operational efficiency, and scalable process improvements.
• Evaluate complex business challenges and determine the most effective solution approach using Generative AI, machine learning, automation, analytics, or a combination of technologies.
• Design, build, and validate AI-powered proofs of concept, pilots, and minimum viable products to accelerate innovation and business adoption.

• Collaborate with operational teams, process owners, and technology stakeholders to translate business needs into practical, impactful AI solutions.

What we would like you to bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, or digital transformation solutions from concept through production deployment.
• Strong expertise across AI technologies, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, machine learning, optimization, and intelligent automation, with the ability to select the right approach for a business challenge.
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools and platforms such as Python, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Power Platform, LangChain, or similar technologies, as well as automation and workflow solutions.
• Proven track record of designing, building, and scaling AI solutions that deliver measurable business impact, ideally within logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, transportation, or other operations-intensive environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, combined with knowledge of enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, TMS), AI governance, responsible AI principles, and agile ways of working in global, cross-functional organizations.
