IXO is seeking a German-audit QA specialist to review German speech data against transcripts in two related workflows. You will review annotations and explain each decision with clear English explanations, presenting critical defects first.

You will verify word boundaries against audio, adjust timing, split or merge segments, insert missing words, and remove empty segments where needed, applying consistent rubrics to distinguish genuine uncertainty from annotation errors. Remote work available.

Qualifications

• Strong English reading and writing required for rulebooks, error codes and explanations
• Experience in linguistics, phonetics or QA is helpful

Audit German as used in Germany speech data in two related workflows: checking whether a transcript matches the recording and checking whether word-level timestamps match the spoken boundaries. You will review existing annotations and explain each decision.

Requirements

You need native or near-native command of German as used in Germany. You must either have grown up in a region where that variety is dominant, or be fully fluent with at least five years of residence in such a region. Strong English reading and writing are required for the rulebook, error codes and explanations.

You should hear fine sound differences, follow continuous word boundaries and apply detailed rubrics over repeated judgments. Prior transcription, subtitling, localization, annotation or QA is valuable. Linguistics, phonetics, waveform tools or earlier AI-evaluation work are helpful rather than mandatory.

Deliverables and terms

Outputs include coded transcript audits, pass/fail rationales and corrected alignment segments. A calibration stage precedes regular assignments. Work packages use a five-audit-hour scope; this describes the task workload, not a flat submission fee. IXO will agree the schedule and review criteria before work begins.

Pay is $46.50/hr in USD. Work is remote, subject to the language-background requirement above.
