With our ingenuity, drive and deep curiosity we discover new insights, innovations, and solutions that efficiently and responsibly resolve complex natural resource, digital, energy transition and infrastructure challenges.**Job Summary**Viridien's Reservoir Research department works on better characterizing the subsurface for resource recovery, a well-established discipline where new technologies are now key to speeding up the integration of seismic information into reservoir models. This requires precise 3D modelling, advanced seismic imaging and well data to accurately quantify available resources.Several seismic inversion methodologies can extract quantitative elastic attributes that provide reliable input for geological modelling. Depending on the seismic data available, Viridien runs various inversion algorithms: Elastic inversion, PP-PS inversion, Time-lapse (4D) inversion or Azimuthal inversion. Each with its own input data, parameters and QC to optimize within a user-friendly interface.**About the Team**During your internship, you will be working in the subsurface imaging R&D team, in close collaboration with our software and production departments, to meet their demands and industry trends. Our R&D team consists of passionate scientists with very diverse backgrounds including geology, theoretical physics, engineering, as well as seismic reservoir characterization. We are all committed to support the Reservoir and Imaging teams on the delivery of the projects and to develop new technologies that will strengthen Viridien's technical leadership on our competitive market.**Key Responsibilities*** Work closely with seismic inversion researchers to adapt inversion schemes to the defined elastic domain* Participate in the development and implementation of a prototype to be able to handle all the requirements of each inversion.* Implement and test the methodology on real data to validate its application, to understand the impact of the different parameters as well as the limitations**Qualifications*****Required**** Last year of Engineer School or Masters degree with strong skills in Mathematics, Physics and Numerical computation* Strong background in Mathematics, Physics and Numerical Computation* Strong analytical approach to problem solving* Collaborating with external R&D partners* Strong knowledge of C++* Curiosity, interest for research and teamwork***Preferred**** Theoretical bases of inversion process* Knowledge of geophysics is not essential but will be useful**Benefits*** An international culture in which the well-being and development of our employees are a top priority·* Access to company restaurant with subsidized price* Access to benefits from Company works council·* Reimbursement of 50% of public transportation card in Ile-de-France region* Attractive sustainable mobility incentive* Confidential employee assistance program to support our staff covering counselling, wellbeing, legal & financial issues**Our Hiring Process**At Viridien, we are committed to delivering a respectful, inclusive, and transparent recruitment experience.Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to provide individual feedback to every applicant.
