Magellium Artal Group seeks a Geometric Calibration Tool Development Engineer to advance algorithms for space-based optical sensor calibration. You will develop in Python within a modular architecture, collaborating with CNES architects to ensure performance. You will also perform tests and document outcomes while keeping tools up to date.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree or PhD and have 3+ years of software experience, with strong math/algorithm background and English proficiency.

• Graduate of engineering school or PhD in CS/Mathematics/Image processing with 3+ years of software experience.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and scientific programming.
• Experience in Python and Docker; familiarity with CI/CD workflows.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and validate algorithms for a Geometric Calibration Workshop for space-based optical sensors.
• Develop in Python, using modular architecture in line with the software framework.
• Contribute to technical specifications with Magellium and CNES architects to ensure modularity and performance.
• Perform unit and integration tests to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Maintain tools and document results obtained.

Geometric Calibration Tool Development Engineer (M/F)

As part of the “Earth Observation” unit, you will work within a team specializing in the geometric modeling of satellite sensors, with space agencies—including CNES and ESA—as your primary clients.

The position involves developing tools for CNES in the field of geometric modeling of optical satellite sensors—that is, all the techniques used to determine the precise geolocation of satellite images.

As such, your main missions include :

• Development, Implementation, and Validation of Algorithms for a Geometric Calibration Workshop for Space-Based Optical Sensors
• Development in Python, using modules, in accordance with the constraints imposed by the software architecture
• Contributed to the technical specifications for the tools in collaboration with Magellium and CNES architects to ensure the modularity, stability, and computation times of the calibration workshop
• Performing unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and accuracy of developments
• Maintaining operational readiness and upgrading existing tools
• Technical documentation of developments and results obtained

Profile required

You are a graduate of a prestigious engineering school and/or hold a Ph.D. in computer science, applied mathematics, or image processing, and you have at least three years of proven experience in software development. You have a strong understanding of algorithms. You are interested in the space sector and ideally have experience in the field of space ground segments.

Technical skills

• Good written and spoken English
• Strong skills in scientific programming (Python)
• Proficiency in Docker and continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes
• A foundation in algorithms and applied mathematics is preferred

Knowledge of sensor geometry is a plus.

• Taste for scientific fields
• Ability to document (writing and reading) and communicate orally (presentation and discussion with experts).
