GMV in Toulouse is seeking an aerospace engineer to join the Space Surveillance and Tracking team. You will develop state-of-the-art algorithms and implement them in software modules for operational use.

Qualifications

• Aerospace engineer or equivalent with space mechanics knowledge.
• Applied mathematics and statistics background is valued.
• Experience with OO programming and space domain concepts.

Responsabilités

• Develop new algorithms in Space Surveillance and Space Mechanics.
• Implement algorithms in software modules from prototyping to production.
• Provide technical support to customers and maintain solutions.

We are expanding our teams in the Space sector to take on Space and Tracking projects.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

In our team you will be developing state-of-the-art algorithms in the Space Surveillance and Tracking fields for their application within the operational chain.

You will be part of the largest team of engineers in Europe dedicated to these fields, working alongside the most prestigious space agencies.

Some of your main functions would be :

• Development of new algorithms in the Space Surveillance and Space Mechanics domain area (collision risk assessment, initial orbit determination, cataloguing techniques, orbit determination, manoeuvre planning, attitude characterization ...)
• Implementing those algorithms in SW modules (from prototyping to operational development, from design to acceptance)
• Providing support to our costumers.

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

We're looking for an aerospace engineer (or equivalent) with knowledge on the space mechanics domain area to join our team in Toulouse. We will value previous experience and knowledge in

• Applied mathematics
• Space debris
• Statistics
• Object-oriented programming

Additionnaly, knowledge and experience in JAVA, Python, DevOps and CI/CD will be appreciated.
