A game development studio in Lyon is offering a full-time internship in Game Design. As an intern, you will join a small team focusing on game development and engage with designers, programmers, and artists. Your responsibilities will include tuning game mechanics, particularly combat, and working closely with teams to implement features. An ideal candidate is passionate about RPG games, eager to learn, and comfortable communicating in English. The position offers meal vouchers, transportation refunds, and 6 months of paid leave.

• Ability to communicate in English.
• Experience with Unreal Engine is a plus.
• Experience with Behavior Trees is a plus.

Responsabilités

WHAT IS THE JOB ABOUT?

As an intern in Game Design, you will evolve in a human-size team that will help you gain knowledge and experience in game development. You will interact with designers, programmers and artists to create the best features and implement them to the highest standards using our own systems within Unreal Engine 5.

THAT IS GREAT BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR THE DAY TO DAY?

• Tune game mechanics, with a special emphasis on combat and progression systems
• Work with the combat designer to balance combat according to their directions
• Work with art, design and tech teams to debug the game according to the production needs

Requirements

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Eager for gaining in-depth knowledge of game development
• Passion for RPG games and player progression systems
• Comfortable communicating (spoken + written) in English
• Extra: Experience with Unreal Engine
• Extra: Experience with Behavior Trees
