Job summary

ESRF in Grenoble seeks a Mechanical Technician F/M to join the Front Ends group. You will participate in maintaining and developing front-end equipment for the accelerator, including vacuum chambers, shutters, and cooling systems, in a high-radiation environment.

The role covers mechanical, vacuum, electrical tasks and basic software testing; scheduling duties and possible shift work. A technician diploma and at least 3 years of experience are required; English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Technician diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of professional experience.
• Mechanical background with knowledge of vacuum systems.
• Good scheduling and organizational skills; ability to work in shifts.
• Proficiency in English as working language.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical tasks: vacuum chamber assembly and maintenance of components.
• Vacuum tasks: leak tests and maintenance of vacuum equipment.
• Electrical tasks: bake-out preparation of front end equipment.
• Software: test control and diagnose front end systems with existing software.
