Job summary

Alta Ares seeks a Junior Payroll Specialist to lead the French payroll end‑to‑end using PayFit, ensuring accuracy and compliance in a fast‑growing startup. You will work with the People & Talent Lead and Finance on compensation, social declarations, and employee administration.

You’ll manage onboarding/offboarding, social security coordination, and payroll reporting while maintaining audit‑ready archives. This hands‑on role emphasizes ownership and process improvement in a lean team.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in payroll or HR admin.
• Fluent in French; English a plus for international coordination.
• PayFit experience is mandatory and used daily.
• Solid understanding of French payroll mechanics and social legislation.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly payroll cycle end-to-end on PayFit, including validation and approvals.
• Collect and validate all monthly variables: absences, overtime, bonuses, expenses.
• Ensure payslips comply with Syntec and French labour law.
• Handle payroll for CDI, CDD, apprenticeship and VIE contracts.
• Coordinate with URSSAF and CPAM for declarations and social contributions.
