Job summary

Axle Energy Limited is expanding in France and seeks a technically strong data scientist, analyst or engineer with deep knowledge of French power markets to model value and forecast revenue opportunities. You will become Axle’s internal expert on French energy markets, understanding market rules, building models, and engaging with system operators and regulators.

Fluency in French and English is required; other European languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• Deep quantitative and modelling ability with Python and SQL.
• Excellent communication and the ability to translate data into commercial insights.
• Fast-paced thinker able to adapt in evolving environments.
• Deep knowledge of French electricity markets (NEBCO, capacity mechanisms, ancillary services).
• Established relationships with regulators and grid operators is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of French energy markets and grid dynamics to forecast earnings and cash flows.
• Phone with grid operators, regulators and stakeholders to validate hypotheses and interpret data.
• Build and optimize models of wholesale/NEBCO, capacity, balancing, ancillary services and local flexibility markets in France.
• Size revenue opportunity across markets and products to shape expansion.
• Evaluate strategies for cycling a battery or load-shifting an EV charger.
• Monitor and shape energy regulation to accelerate the growth of flexibility.
