NES Fircroft is seeking a senior Lead HVAC Engineer (FPSO) to lead and coordinate the HVAC discipline across detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up phases on an offshore FPSO project.

The role requires strong leadership for multi-disciplinary interfaces, a track record in offshore oil & gas HVAC design, and fluent English. Travel to contractor facilities and offshore sites is expected during the assignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Strong HVAC design experience for offshore installations.
  • Oil & Gas HVAC experience is essential.
  • 10+ years in major Oil & Gas projects.
  • Proven leadership, communication and teamwork skills; fluent English.

Responsabilités

  • Lead and coordinate HVAC scope during detailed design and procurement.
  • Oversee HVAC activities by main contractor and subcontractors.
  • Ensure timely, quality HVAC design, construction and commissioning deliverables.
  • Review technical deliverables and participate in design reviews.
  • Monitor performance of contractors and FATs where required.
  • Ensure HVAC systems meet project requirements and standards.
  • Support procurement, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up.
  • Manage interfaces with Process, Technical Safety, Electrical and Architecture.
  • Address queries and design changes to avoid delays.
  • Report progress and risks to Engineering Management and propose actions.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and knowledge sharing.

Lead HVAC Engineer (FPSO) – Job Summary

This role is responsible for leading and coordinating all HVAC engineering activities for an FPSO project throughout detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up preparation phases. The position acts as the focal point for HVAC discipline delivery, ensuring technical quality, schedule compliance, safety, operability, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the HVAC scope during detailed design and procurement.
  • Oversee HVAC engineering activities performed by the main contractor and subcontractors.
  • Ensure timely delivery and quality of HVAC design, construction, and commissioning documentation.
  • Review key technical deliverables and participate in technical meetings and design reviews.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance, including attendance at Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) where required.
  • Ensure HVAC systems are designed for consistency, optimization, flexibility, operability, and compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Support procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Manage interfaces with other disciplines including Process, Technical Safety, Electrical, and Architectural teams.
  • Proactively address engineering queries, technical issues, design changes, and project risks to avoid delays.
  • Report progress, risks, and critical issues to Engineering Management and recommend corrective actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned, methodology enhancements, and knowledge sharing.
Working Environment
  • International, multicultural project environment.
  • Residential assignment based at contractor engineering and construction facilities.
  • Frequent travel and offshore/site visits may be required.
Duration & Location
  • Start: September 2026 (subject to Final Investment Decision).
  • Duration: Approximately 1 to 4 years following contract award.
  • Renewable: Yes.
  • Location: Contractor engineering and construction site.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Strong HVAC design experience, including calculations for large offshore installations.
  • Significant Oil & Gas HVAC experience.
  • More than 10 years of professional experience in major Oil & Gas projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Fluent English.
