Job description

The FinOps Lead is responsible for making Sekoia’s cloud and Technology & Product economics visible, actionable, and well governed. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the CTPO, this role acts as a Finance Business Partner for the Technology & Product organization.

The position sits at the intersection of Finance, Product, Engineering, Data, and HR. It is designed to improve financial discipline, model cloud and platform economics, and help teams make better decisions about infrastructure, product usage, resource allocation, and growth.

This role is also accountable for linking infrastructure costs to revenue and cost of revenue, supporting gross margin analysis and unit economics. It requires building trusted relationships with technical teams while contributing a financial perspective to engineering and product decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain tagging strategies, cost allocation models, and dashboards that attribute cloud spend to teams, products, and features.
  • Monitor cloud spending, detect anomalies, and drive optimization actions such as rightsizing, commitments, and waste reduction.
  • Maintain governance over time through alerts, recurring reviews with Technology & Product teams, and continuous refinement of the allocation model.
  • Connect infrastructure costs to revenue and cost of revenue to support gross margin and unit economics analysis, in coordination with the Data team.
  • Own the rolling infrastructure cost forecast based on customer growth, usage, product adoption, and architecture changes.
  • Work with Product and Tech to assess the cost impact of new products, features, and architectures before launch.
  • Model how infrastructure costs scale at different usage levels and compare projected economics with actual production results after launch.
  • Support product business cases with cost simulations, pricing scenarios, and profitability estimates.
  • Provide visibility into Technology & Product resource allocation across major initiatives, including capacity, fully loaded cost, and change over time.
  • Maintain reliable time tracking for subsidized R&D projects, including audit-ready records for tax credit and grant reporting.
  • Track and model the cost impact of the Technology & Product hiring plan, including payroll and recruitment costs.
  • Provide Finance with a clear view of the fully loaded cost of Technology & Product hires and their impact on the P&L.
Required Skills
  • Hands-on experience optimizing infrastructure spend in public cloud and/or large-scale hosted environments.
  • Experience with one or more of the following environments: AWS, Azure, GCP, or OVH.
  • Practical knowledge of billing, cost allocation, rightsizing, and commitments.
  • Technical credibility and the ability to challenge Engineering teams on architecture and cost trade-offs.
  • Strong understanding of FinOps concepts, including tagging, cost allocation, unit economics, and gross margin.
  • Comfort working with data, including SQL and/or cloud cost-management tools.
  • Ability to build relevant financial and operational models.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
Preferred Skills
