Aqr8 is looking for a skilled Cloud Financial Analyst in Paris to optimize our clients' cloud-related costs. You will act as a key intermediary between technical and financial teams, analyzing consumption trends and managing cloud budgets to drive operational efficiency. Qualified candidates should have a solid understanding of cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), billing models, and must hold relevant cloud certifications. Strong project management and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Proficient with major cloud providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of cloud billing and pricing models.
• Solid knowledge in core cloud services such as compute, storage, and databases.
• Ability to identify inefficiencies in cloud architecture.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD processes.

Enable our clients’ organizations to optimize the management of their cloud-related costs while aligning these expenditures with their business objectives.

The role acts as a key intermediary between technical teams, financial teams, and strategic decision-makers to maximize the value of cloud investments.

Requirements

Cloud & DevOps knowledge

• Proficiency with major cloud providers: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), etc.
• Billing and pricing models: Strong understanding of different models (on-demand instances, reserved instances, savings plans, etc.) and pricing structures.
• Core cloud services: Solid knowledge of compute, storage, databases, networking, and cloud management tools.
• Cloud architecture understanding: Ability to identify inefficiencies (rightsizing, removal of unused resources, etc.).
• DevOps fundamentals: Integration with CI/CD processes and environment management.

Analytical & financial skills

• Data analysis: Analyze cloud consumption trends and identify optimization opportunities. Extract and interpret relevant financial and technical metrics.
• FinOps KPI definition: Create and monitor indicators such as cost per user, cost per workload, or resource utilization rate.
• Financial modeling: Forecast future costs to assess the impact of architectural or usage choices.
• Budgeting & optimization: Define cloud budgets and identify cost-saving levers (reservations, spot instances, decommissioning, etc.).
• Simplify and explain technical concepts to non-technical teams (e.g. finance, executive management).
• Present clear, actionable recommendations to decision-makers.
• Work cross-functionally with diverse teams (IT, DevOps, Finance, Executive leadership).
• Train teams to adopt a FinOps culture and effectively use cost management tools.

Project management

• Plan and manage cloud cost optimization projects.
• Monitor the implementation of best practices and assess their effectiveness.
• Cloud: AWS Certified Solutions Architect / Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals / Architect Design, Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer.
• Scripting & automation: Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash) to automate cost monitoring and optimization.
