Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site service and support for actuators across the designated South East region and Lyon area. You will diagnose faults, repair, and test actuators, and perform electrical and mechanical installations in customer facilities.

The role requires traversing multiple sites, reading schematics, and using calibration tools. A BTS electrotechnics or MAI background plus a valid driving license are essential for this roaming,

Qualifications

• Experience with electric, pneumatic and hydraulic powertrains.
• Solid understanding of electronics and fluid power theories.

• Experience in a practical engineering environment.
• BT S electrotechnics or MAI and field service experience.
• Willingness to travel and roam between sites.

Responsibilities

• Identify faults, repair, test and modify actuators in the field.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical installations of actuators and retrofit components, pedestals and drive shafts.
• Complete accurate and technical site visit reports for each job.
• Travel extensively within the South East region and Lyon area as needed.
• Work under pressure with customers to resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain and service equipment to ensure minimal downtime.

Job description

This is a key role in providing essential service plans to our customers and their sites, reacting to various technical faults and planned maintenance of our products.

Reporting to the Service Manager, in this role you will be part of a National team of Field Service Engineers providing a prompt and effective service to resolve customer issues as they arise. Responsible for the following geographical area: South East (Toulouse, Perpignan, Frontignan, Nice, Martigues). Travel to the Lyon region in case of need.

In this role you will identify faults, repair, test and modify actuators in the field, carry out mechanical and electrical installations of actuators and associated retrofit adaption of components, pedestals and drive shafts and completing accurate and technical site visit reports for each job.

This role would suit a determined problem-solver, who can think logically for troubleshooting issues and has the willingness to travel extensively with overnight stays included.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

• Technical experience and/or relevant knowledge of electric, pneumatic, hydraulic powertrains.
• Good understanding of basic electronics, electrical and fluid power theories.
• Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and utilization of common test and calibration tools.
• Experience of working in a practical engineering environment.
• Methods of maintenance, troubleshooting. BTS electrotechnics or MAI.
• Experience working in after-sales service, roaming
