microTECH Global LTD is seeking a Field Application Engineer to support adoption of next-gen solid-state power protection and advanced switching technologies. You will explore application opportunities, develop customer-oriented demonstrators, and collaborate with partners to accelerate integration of semiconductor-based protection solutions.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or MSc in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
• 5–10 years hands-on experience in power electronics and power semiconductors.
• Deep understanding of fast electrical protection challenges (short-circuit, current limiting, protection coordination).
• Familiarity with Wide Bandgap (WBG) devices and fast interruption topologies.
• Proficient with advanced laboratory equipment (high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, fast current probes, power supplies, electronic loads).

Responsabilités

• Identify and qualify new use cases for semiconductor-based protection and advanced switching.
• Design, develop, and validate demonstrators and evaluation platforms.
• Investigate integration of WBG devices into protective functions.
• Build test benches and perform transient, short-circuit, surge, and SOA characterization.
• Co-develop with external clients to create AC/DC power distribution architectures.
• Author application notes and design guidelines while monitoring industry trends.
