Résumé du poste

The CNRS Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies (C2N) in Palaiseau invites applications for a First Stage Researcher position to study quantum polaritonics in semiconductor microstructures. The successful candidate will perform low-temperature optical spectroscopy at 4 K and develop numerical models to interpret the data.

Based in a dynamic group led by Sylvain Ravets and Jacqueline Bloch, you will collaborate with nanofabrication and theory teams, using 7 T magnets and advanced

Qualifications

  • Experience in experimental optics, including the use of lasers, spectrometers, and cryostats.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and scientific computing (NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib).
  • Experience operating experimental equipment such as oscilloscopes, CCD cameras, and electromagnets. Knowledge of numerical modelling techniques, including transfer-matrix methods and Hamiltonian diagonalization.
  • Ability to work independently and rigorously, as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research environment.

Responsabilités

  • Operate a 4 K cryostat and implementation of resonant spectroscopy experiments using tunable lasers and angle- and energy-resolved detection.
  • Setup and calibration of experimental apparatus, including optical alignment and control of measurement parameters.
  • Data acquisition and analysis, including spectra, images, and mode mapping.
  • Development of numerical simulations in Python to reproduce the experiments and investigate the quantum properties of the microcavities.
  • Presentation and discussion of results during weekly group meetings.
