Aldebaran Group in Paris seeks an Estimation Engineer to support the proposal and execution phases of major EPC projects in energy and infrastructure.

You will monitor quantities and costs, analyze drawings and BOQs, and prepare monthly reports while collaborating with Engineering, Procurement and Project teams. Fluent in French and English is essential; you will contribute to benchmarking and bid competitiveness.

Responsabilités

  • Analyze drawings, 3D models, and BOQs issued by engineering disciplines.
  • Monitor quantities and costs against reference estimates to ensure budget compliance.
  • Identify quantity overruns and determine root causes with engineering teams.
  • Assess deviations due to Client Change Orders and internal design/scope changes.
  • Prepare monthly quantity and cost reports for Project Management.
  • Support Subcontracting team in ITBs and bid references.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of supplier/subcontractor bids considering TCO, delivery, and risks.
  • Analyze material quantities and valuations during tendering.
  • Conduct benchmarking analyses against historical data to improve bid accuracy and risk management.

SUMMARY :

We are looking for anEstimation Engineerto support our project teams during the proposal and execution phases of major EPC projects. The position is based inParis.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :

You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling project quantities and costs in accordance with contractual requirements and internal procedures. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing engineering drawings, 3D models, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) issued by the various engineering disciplines.
  • Monitoring and verifying quantities resulting from engineering studies against the reference quantities included in the original estimate ("sold" quantities), in order to ensure compliance with the project's contractual budget.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and monitoring quantity overruns, working closely with the various engineering disciplines to determine their root causes.
  • Assessing quantity deviations, distinguishing in particular between changes resulting from aClient Change Orderand internal design or scope changes.
  • Preparing and issuing monthly quantity and cost reports to provide Project Management with a clear overview of progress, deviations, and associated risks.
  • Supporting the Subcontracting team in preparingInvitations to Bid (ITBs)for various construction and works packages, ensuring the reliability of reference quantities and the proper definition of scopes of work.
  • Participating in the evaluation and selection of supplier and subcontractor bids, taking into account various criteria such as total cost of ownership, delivery times, technical, commercial, contractual, and legal risks, as well as previous experience with bidders.
  • Analyzing and verifying material quantities and valuations prepared by the Proposal teams during tendering phases.
  • Conducting benchmarking analyses by comparing current estimates with historical data from similar projects in order to improve the accuracy and competitiveness of bids and strengthen risk management.

YOUR EXPERIENCE :
  • Proven experience on EPC projects, ideally in an industrial or Energy environment.
  • Good knowledge of the various engineering disciplines and their impact on project quantities, costs, and scope.
  • Experience in analyzing engineering drawings, 3D models, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Strong skills in quantity variance analysis and budget monitoring.
  • Experience in preparing project reports and analyzing historical data for benchmarking purposes.
  • Good understanding of supplier and subcontractor tendering, evaluation, and selection processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, and Subcontracting teams.
  • Ability to analyze the root causes of deviations and propose actions to secure project costs and scope.

YOUR PROFILE :
  • You have proven experience working on EPC projects and a good understanding of the various engineering disciplines.
  • You are able to analyze complex technical and quantitative data and draw relevant conclusions for project cost and budget monitoring.
  • You have excellent communication skills and are comfortable working in a multidisciplinary and international environment.
  • You are rigorous, analytical, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the various project teams.
  • You are fluent in bothFrench and English.
