Aldebaran Group is seeking a Control Systems Engineer for major LNG and Oil & Gas projects based in Paris. You will define architectures, specify hardware, and coordinate interfaces across instrumentation, IT, and project teams to ensure reliable control and safety systems.
The role requires an engineering degree with at least 7 years in control systems within industrial settings, ideally with EPC experience in LNG/O&G or petrochemicals. Fluency in English is essential.
Control Systems Engineer - Ref. JOB-1608
As part of the development of major LNG and Oil & Gas projects during the engineering phase, we are looking for a Control Systems Engineer to work on the definition, design and integration of control and safety systems.
You will work on large-scale industrial projects, interfacing with instrumentation, process, engineering, project and supplier teams, in order to ensure the technical consistency, performance and reliability of control systems.
The position is based in Paris and is part of major EPC projects in the LNG and Oil & Gas sector.
Define the architectures of control and safety systems according to project requirements and technical constraints
Participate in defining control strategies and operating principles for LNG and Oil & Gas facilities
Define and specify the hardware equipment required for control systems, in coordination with suppliers and project teams
Prepare technical specifications and design documents relating to control systems and associated systems
Carry out functional analyses to translate process requirements into requirements for control systems
Define the interfaces between control systems, field equipment, packages and IT infrastructures
Participate in defining the systems used to measure and control the main operating parameters of the facilities: temperature, pressure, flow, level, etc.
Contribute to defining safety functions and integrating safety requirements into the system architecture
Participate in the preparation and review of supplier technical documents and ensure the follow-up of studies related to the systems
Technically evaluate the solutions proposed by suppliers and participate in technical selections
Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines, particularly instrumentation, process, packages and project teams
Participate in technical reviews, coordination meetings and the follow-up of supplier studies
Contribute to the preparation and follow-up of system testing and acceptance phases
Participate in commissioning and start-up activities when necessary
Engineering degree or higher education specialized in industrial computing, automation, control systems or equivalent
Minimum 7 years of experience in control systems within an industrial engineering environment
Experience in LNG, Oil & Gas, petrochemical or energy projects, ideally in an EPC environment
Strong knowledge of control system architectures and associated infrastructures
Ability to define and specify the hardware equipment of a control system
Experience in drafting technical specifications and conducting functional analyses
Good understanding of the interfaces between control systems, instrumentation, packages and IT infrastructures
Knowledge of industrial safety systems and associated requirements
Awareness of industrial cybersecurity issues and IT/OT integration
Ability to work with suppliers and the various engineering disciplines
