Job summary

Parallel in Paris is hiring its first Engineering Manager to lead streams of AI engineers and software engineers. You will split time 50/50 between hands-on coding and people leadership, owning a stream end-to-end.

You have 5+ years of experience, including 2+ years managing 4–5 engineers, a strong full-stack or data background, startup experience, and you are French-speaking. You will help scale the tech organization from 10 to 20+ while guiding culture and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience, including at least 2 years managing an engineering team.
• Have managed 4–5+ people and ownership of performance and people aspects.
• Background in full-stack software engineering or data, with a hands-on mindset.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage engineers in your stream (1:1s, feedback, growth, performance).
• Own a stream end to end as Stream Owner, driving technical direction and delivery with your PM.
• Be a hands-on leader with ~50% coding and 50% management, especially in early months.
• Shape tech culture: code quality, rituals, standards, knowledge sharing.
