Algolia is seeking an Engineering Director to lead multiple engineering teams and drive delivery, reliability, and high-performance systems. You will champion AI leadership within the organization, collaborate with product and design, and shape roadmaps that deliver tangible customer value across a global engineering function.

The role requires 8–12+ years in engineering and 3–5+ years managing teams, with a strong background in distributed systems, APIs, and scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of engineering experience.
• 3–5+ years managing multiple teams or through managers.
• Strong background in distributed systems, APIs, and scalable infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of engineering teams via Engineering Managers and Senior ICs.
• Foster AI leadership and continuous improvement across the tech organization.
• Own delivery, execution, and operational excellence for defined product areas.
• Partner with Product, Design, and stakeholders to shape roadmaps and deliver customer value.
• Drive engineering best practices across system design, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Coach Engineering Managers to grow as leaders and build high-performing teams.
• Contribute to organizational planning including headcount and team structure.
