Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support daily ED operations. The role involves patient care, specimen collection, and assisting in orthopedic and emergency procedures during 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualified candidates may hold a CNA/EMT license or be enrolled in a nursing program with clinical rotations, or have 2+ years ED tech experience. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Current CNA or EMT license, or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or current enrollment in a nursing program with at least 1 year of clinical rotations; or minimum 2 years ED Tech experience.
• CPI training within 6 months of hire.
• Paramedic license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, stocks, and readies the ED for care of patients.
• Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.
• Performs clinical tasks, such as EKGs, suture setup, wound cleansing with sterile technique, and collects labs (urine/serum).
• Assists in EDMD and Orthopedics with splints, molds, immobilizers, and orthopedic clinic setup.
• Performs lab draws as required.
• Carries out tasks as directed by physicians and ED nursing staff.
