Job summary

FM, a leading mutual insurance company with a long-standing history, seeks a Strategic Communications Lead for the EMEA region to drive external communications, media relations, and executive visibility across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This role will develop and execute coordinated programs with marketing and regional leaders to generate earned media and thought leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• A degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• 9+ years of public relations and marketing experience in corporate or agency environments.
• Experience translating technical topics for Tier 1 media audiences.
• Proven track record building relationships with Tier 1 journalists.
• Experience collaborating with a global, distributed team.
• Fluent in modern communication channels, including social and digital media.
• B2B insurance or financial services experience desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft products and ability to learn new technologies.
• Familiarity with AI workplace tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with marketing, leaders, SMEs and agencies to implement PR and thought leadership aligned with business and marketing strategies.
• Lead external communications strategy for FM across EMEA and ensure timely delivery of PR activities and campaigns.
• Develop proactive media relations programs to elevate FM's visibility and industry authority.
• Work with executives and subject matter experts on media interviews, content, and thought leadership storytelling.
• Oversee content creation by agencies and internal teams, plus writing and editing content.
