Harmattan AI in Paris is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join the GCS module, developing firmware for a handheld UAV controller, handling inputs, display, wireless, power management, and real-time responsiveness.

You will work with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration, perform field testing, and contribute to scalable firmware architecture for future product lines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong experience in embedded C/C++ and real-time firmware development.
• Proficient with CPU/MCU, ARM, hardware abstraction layers, and SPI/I2C/UART protocols.
• Experience with Embedded Linux.
• Familiarity with wireless communications (LoRa, Wi‑Fi, LTE) is a plus.
• Bonus: Handheld or ruggedized control systems in defense/aerospace/robotics.
• Problem-solving: able to work autonomously and tackle complex technical challenges.
• Communication & influence: capable of guiding diverse teams and executives.

Responsabilités

• Develop embedded firmware for handheld ground stations, integrating displays, input devices, wireless modules, and battery systems.
• Implement the interface with the radio link.
• Optimize system performance for responsiveness, power efficiency, and thermal constraints.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers for hardware-software integration.
• Conduct field validation and debugging under mission scenarios.
• Write clean, production-ready code focused on long-term stability.
• Participate in architectural decisions to scale the firmware platform.
