Octopus Energy Group is seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to own the electrical scope on first-of-a-kind power projects, including private wire, behind-the-meter generation, and MV/HV grid connections. You will manage the programme, budget, and external parties from concept through energisation and handover.

You will lead design reviews, ensure grid-code compliance, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex, data-centre and industrial power solutions with a delivery team

Qualifications

• Master’s degree, or equivalent, in electrical or power systems engineering.
• 5+ years delivering energy or infrastructure projects, with a strong grounding in MV and HV systems.
• Real infrastructure experience - substations, networks, industrial plant, data centres, utilities, water or transport.

Responsabilités

• Own the programme and the development budget from concept to energisation.
• Own the electrical concept through to sign-off including single-line diagrams and switchgear layouts.
• Lead the grid interface with DNO, TO and NESO; manage applications, offers, and milestones.
• Budget ownership through completion with capex inputs and sequencing of operation; oversee FAT/SAT, commissioning and handover.
• Tackle first-of-a-kind challenges, quickly gaining working understanding of unfamiliar technology and delivering it.
