Job summary

Harmattan AI is building autonomous defense systems and expanding the Tooling team to bring drone models into our simulator. You will translate rich physical models—aerosodynamics, propulsion, electronics, sensors, and electromechanical systems—into the simulator software stack, ensure faithful behavior, and validate results with expert data.

This role offers high ownership at the intersection of physics, software engineering, and AI robotics with real mission impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in software engineering or simulation.
• Strong understanding of flight dynamics and physics.
• Experience integrating third-party models into large software systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python; Linux knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Domain Experts to understand models and inputs/outputs for the simulator.
• Integrate models into the simulator software stack with clear interfaces.
• Define and run tests comparing models against reference data from flight logs and bench tests.
• Translate user needs into realism targets and balance fidelity with performance.
• Document integrated models, parameters, validity domains, and validation results; standardize processes.
