Harmattan AI in Paris is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Tooling team, bringing physical models of drones into the simulator, including aerodynamics, propulsion, electronics, sensors, and electromechanical systems.

You will translate user needs into fidelity targets, integrate models into the simulator stack, and validate behavior with real data, working across GNC, ML, Embedded, and Validation teams to balance realism, performance, and integration effort.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, simulation, or a related engineering field.
• Solid understanding of flight dynamics and physics to discuss models with aerodynamics, propulsion, electronics, sensors, and electromechanical systems.
• Experience integrating third-party models or components into a larger software system and validating them against experimental data.
• Proficiency with C++ and Python; comfortable with Linux environments.
• Educational background in aerospace/robotics/computer science/physics or equivalent professional experience.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate with domain experts to understand models and interfaces for delivery to the simulator.
• Integrate models into the simulator software stack with clean interfaces, configurability, and performance considerations.
• Define and run tests validating models against reference data and report discrepancies to model owners.
• Collaborate with simulator users to define realism targets and balance fidelity, performance, and integration effort.
• Document models, parameters, validity domains, and validation results; help standardise processes.
