Harmattan AI is seeking a Director of Engineering for UAS Development in Rabat, Morocco. You will build and lead a new engineering organization from the ground up, owning the full technical chain from airframe to flight test, and scaling to about 50 engineers across six modules.

You will hire and mentor leaders, establish a hard milestone cadence, and develop a local supplier ecosystem to sustain production under a fixed calendar and defence-systems focus.

Qualifications

• MSc in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or related engineering field.
• Proven leadership experience with four direct reports who were leads.
• 10+ years of experience, including 4+ in engineering management.
• Experience standing up or scaling an engineering site with local hiring.
• Track record delivering hardware through qualification to production for defence or UAV/autonomy.
• Ability to engage across multiple disciplines and contribute written positions on cross-module questions.
• 100% dedication to Harmattan AI's mission, on site in Rabat with regular travel to Paris and Lausanne.

Responsabilités

• Organisation Building: Stand up the engineering group from an office that is opening, reaching full staffing quickly.
• Programme Delivery: Maintain a fixed milestone calendar with contractual dates and suit cadence to the programme.
• Technical Ownership: Own the full engineering chain across airframe, propulsion, avionics, launcher and ground segment, up to flight tests.
• People Management & Mentorship: Manage managers while staying close to the engineering, run design and programme reviews across five disciplines in the same week.
• Local Ecosystem: Develop the local supplier base and entity operations during the first year.
• Stakeholder & Customer Interface: Work with the General Manager, Chief Engineer, programme management, and customer, owning milestones end-to-end.
